ABOUT US

Our family history values and culture of our corporation. These values can include integrity, community involvement, and a commitment to quality, which can differentiate TILTAY in the market and guide our actions. Manufacturing top quality products at competitive rates, and client satisfaction are the priorities in TILTAY. The company is known for the strong popping effect of its popping candies, as well as the quality ingredients and the magical taste of its final products.

Tiltay traces its origins back to the 1930s when it was first established as “Ari Şekerleme” by Ibrahim Tiltay. Specializing in traditional Turkish sweets such as akide şeker and Turkish delight, the company quickly gained recognition for its quality and craftsmanship. In 1937, it showcased its products at Istanbul’s first food exhibition, marking a significant milestone in its journey.

Ibrahim Tiltay began crafting some of the Turkish traditional sweets such as akide şekeri (rock candy), nobet sekeri, crystallized candy, Turkish delight, orcik candy, leblebi sekeri and helva (halvah) in his shop.

Over the decades, the company introduced iconic confectionery items, including “Cigana Gum” in 1962 and “Olimpiyat Gum” in 1965, the latter featuring collectible cards of athletes from the 1964 Tokyo Olympics.

In 1972, with the innovative contributions of Ibrahim’s three sons, the company became the first company in Turkey to produce “chocolate in a tube” package. His sons excelled in distributing the products across all the cities in Turkey, playing a key role in the company’s success and financial growth.

Our beloved grandfather and the founder of the company, Ibrahim Tiltay, passed away in 1979, leaving behind a strong and well-established business to his three children Halit, Ali & Haluk to carry forward.

The three brothers first initiative was to expand the factory in the late 1980’s, increasing production capacity and introducing new production lines.

In 2001, the company rebranded as “Tiltay” and entered new markets with the production of popping candy, continuing its legacy of innovation and excellence in confectionery.

After achieving success in the popping candy industry, the company expanded to a 90,000 sq. ft. factory to increase production capacity. Within this facility, Tiltay operates an in-house workshop where it manufactures its own candy cooking and packaging machines. As a result, the company has become the world’s largest producer of popping candy under one roof.
